I’ve read a lot of fantasy over the decades — classics, grimdark epics, cozy adventures, science-fantasy blends, cosmic weirdness, and yes… even the occasional LitRPG dungeon filled with cats, chaos, and questionable life choices. After a ton of thought (and perhaps too much coffee), it’s time to reveal my personal, highly subjective, and proudly chaotic Top 100 Fantasy Reads as of 2025.

In this opening episode, I’m counting down the books that landed in spots #100 through #81, including brand-new entries, returning favorites, surprise drops, and a few titles that muscled their way onto the list after a recent reread or mind-blowing audiobook experience. Whether you’re here for Sanderson storms, Abercrombie grimdark, McCaffrey dragons, Donaldson despair, Stephen Graham Jones meta-mayhem, or the absolute unhinged delight that is Dungeon Crawler Carl… there’s something in this first batch for every kind of fantasy fan.
